Four J & K Schools Lose Govt Affiliation For Textbook Violations

Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) on Wednesday said it has cancelled the affiliation of four private schools and imposed fines on several others for violating prescribed textbook norms.
“They have inspected the schools and whosoever private school was found violating the government norms by prescribing private publications of books was fined,” she said.
Choudhary said the board has cancelled the affiliation of four schools that were not following the prescribed norms. She added that at least eight schools have been fined by the inspection team for violating JKBOSE textbook guidelines.
ADVERTISEMENTThe Joint Secretary said private schools affiliated with the board are required to follow norms laid down under SRO 123. She said JKBOSE textbooks are available at nominal rates, whereas books recommended by some private schools from private publishers are much costlier.
