Ellen Ruth Kujawa
- Coastal Change Research Fellow, University of Hull PhD Candidate, Department of Geography, University of Cambridge
I recently completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge, where my research focuses on equity and justice in disaster response. My work has extensively examined Puerto Rico and the federal response to hurricanes on the island, including what I believe to be the largest analysis of a FOIA dataset on federal funding appropriations to date. I completed my Master's degree at Oxford in 2020, with a thesis centered on fairness in the U.S. federal response to floods. I hold a previous Master's degree in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor's degre in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College. I have also worked as a researcher for several environmental nonprofits in the United States.
