In over 30 years of language instruction, I have taught a broad variety of courses in Spanish language, literature, and culture. My interdisciplinary research interests encompass Modern and Contemporary Spanish Peninsular Literature and Cultural Studies, with an emphasis on popular culture and media studies. I specialize in topics related to memory construction and its ideological dimensions, as well as politics of representation in aesthetic-cultural productions of the Spanish-speaking world. Among my recent publications, there are“Latin@ Visions: Race and Gender Representations in Netflix' Cocaine Coast",“Spanish Krausism: Visions of Spain's Progressive Future through the Prism of German Philosophy”, and“Longing for Return: An Existential Search and Identity Formation in Almodovar's Volver". One of my latest projects“Representing Diversity in TVE's A Different View” was featured in The Academic Minute of the National Public Radio on 5/16/2023.
