Amman Hosts Launch Of Saudi Author's Book On Palestine And The Arab-Israeli Conflict
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) The Arab Thought Forum in Amman organized a discussion Wednesday evening to celebrate the publication of the book "Palestine and the Zionist Conflict: An Open Wound in the Arab Heart A Saudi Writer's Perspective" by Zaid bin Ali Al-Fadhil, Director of the Cultural and Media Program at the Gulf Research Center and researcher in the history of ideas.
The event was attended by numerous intellectuals, writers, and academics. Readings and analyses of the book were presented by the publisher and poet Musa Hawamdeh, Nadia Saad Al-Din, a political science professor at Petra University, and the author himself. The discussion was moderated by Rafah Jawad from Roya TV.
Hawamdeh praised Al-Fadhil's intellectual effort and cultural heritage, noting that the author holds a PhD in the philosophy of history and has dedicated his writings to the Palestinian cause, especially following the events of October 7 and the recent two years' developments.
Saad Al-Din highlighted the depth of analysis and clarity of language in the book, stressing that it reaffirms Palestine as a central concern in the Arab consciousness. She noted that the book underscores Saudi Arabia's support for the Palestinian people, their right to an independent state, and its stance against normalization before Palestinian statehood is established, in line with the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
The book addresses key issues, including Israeli historical revisionism, the denial of Palestinian rights, and the struggle over cultural and historical narratives. Al-Fadhil emphasized that the next phase of the conflict with Israel will involve contesting historical and cultural narratives, particularly in digital and social media spaces, warning against the shaping of narratives by Israeli research centers.
Al-Fadhil also expressed his deep connection to Jordan and its supportive role for Palestinians, affirming that the Palestinian cause remains central to his worldview.
The forum concluded with a rich discussion with attendees, while the forum's Secretary-General, Al Sadq Al Faqeeh, underscored the critical need to counter Israeli narratives and preserve Palestine's Arab and Islamic identity.
