The discussions took place during a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation led by New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The session was attended by Umid Safarov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber, prominent Uzbek entrepreneurs, and representatives from various business associations.

During the meeting, Umid Safarov proposed initiatives aimed at preparing Uzbek entrepreneurs for the U.S. financial markets, including potential collaborations with the New York Stock Exchange. He also suggested the establishment of business schools and acceleration programs in Uzbekistan in partnership with leading U.S. universities, as well as the creation of a joint vocational college in Tashkent.

Kamolat Mirzaalieva, President of the Association of Small Businesses, highlighted the prospect of forging partnerships with the New York Small Business Association and securing support for the export of local products to the U.S. market.

Entrepreneurs also put forward proposals to expand the export of agricultural products to the U.S., enhance the development of biochemical production, and promote innovative projects.

Meanwhile, by the end of 2024, bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and the U.S. had grown significantly by 15 percent, reaching a trade turnover of $881.7 million. During the same period, U.S. direct investment in Uzbekistan totaled $612.6 million. Currently, more than 300 U.S.-invested enterprises operate in Uzbekistan, including 167 fully owned by American stakeholders.
