Uzbekistan, Switzerland Outline Plans For Joint Projects And Upcoming Events
The discussions took place during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Muzaffar Madrakhimov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Uzbekistan, Konstantin Obolensky.
Special emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, as outlined during the discussions between the foreign policy heads of both nations in Bern on October 16.
Following the meeting, several key agreements were reached concerning joint initiatives, including the establishment of inter-ministerial political consultations, the convening of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the organization of“Swiss Economy Days in Uzbekistan,” and the facilitation of reciprocal high-level delegations.
Earlier, on October 16, Bakhtiyor Saidov engaged in a meeting with Ignazio Cassis, the Federal Councillor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, to explore avenues for advancing Uzbekistan-Switzerland relations in both bilateral and multilateral contexts. Discussions centered on critical areas such as innovation, knowledge transfer, trade, capacity building, and other strategic sectors.
