Six Accused Chargesheeted In CAT Record Tampering Case: CBK

Srinagar – The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in a high-profile case of alleged record tampering before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), booking six individuals on serious criminal charges.
According to officials, the chargesheet in FIR No. 87/2022-under Sections 209, 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC-was submitted before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar.
The accused have been identified as Pathan Majid Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Dilawar Khan, of Takia Khan Sopore; Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather, of Ali Bagh Hygam, Sopore; Mudasir Yousuf Wani, son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani, of Tujjar Sharief, Sopore; Ghulam Mohammad Reshi, son of Ghulam Ahmad Reshi, of Yamberzal Wani (Harda-Shiva), Sopore; Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, of Bonpora Nowpora Sopore; and Anoop Mishra, son of Santosh Kumar Mishra, a resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, presently posted near the DC Office in Jammu.
ADVERTISEMENTThe case stemmed from a communication received from the office of the Chief Horticulture Officer, flagging suspected tampering of documents submitted before CAT Srinagar in TA No. 4100/2021. Following the complaint, Crime Branch initiated a formal investigation.
During the probe, investigators established that official records kept with CAT Srinagar had been unlawfully altered. The prime accused, Pathan Majid Ahmad Khan, allegedly conspired with CAT employee Anoop Mishra and other beneficiary employees to insert unauthorised entries related to their regularisation in the Horticulture Department.
