National Anti-Doping Agency Holds Seminar For Rowers
The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) has organized another seminar for rowers at the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (AKAF), Azernews reports.
The agency's specialist informed athletes about violations of anti-doping rules, the doping control process, athletes' rights and obligations during this process, therapeutic use exemptions, and the consequences of using prohibited substances.
The young and junior rowers were educated on the sanctions imposed for the use of these substances and the prohibited list.
The athletes were also briefed on the importance of adhering to anti-doping rules and the knowledge and skills required to make informed decisions.
The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) was established on December 23, 2016 as a national anti-doping organisation with the mission of fighting doping in sports.
The legal background covering the agency's mission is the Law "On the fight against the use of doping substances and methods in sport," signed and, respectively, implemented by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the last quarter of 2016.
