Power Outages In Four Regions Due To Russian Attacks Ukrenergo
"Russia continues to strike objects of Ukraine's energy system. As a result of drone attacks during the night and morning, there are consumers without power in the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Odesa regions. Everywhere where the security situation allows, emergency repair work has already begun," the statement says.
It is noted that energy workers are doing everything possible to return damaged equipment to operation as quickly as possible and restore power to all consumers.
Due to the consequences of previous massive missile and drone attacks, consumption limitation measures continue to be applied today in most regions of Ukraine. By the end of the day, hourly blackout schedules ranging from 1 to 4 stages will be in effect. In all regions where hourly outages are applied, power limitation schedules for industrial consumers and businesses are also in force.
In addition, Ukrenergo reported that electricity consumption has increased. Today, on November 17, as of 09:30, it was 9.7% higher than at the same time on the previous weekday – Friday, November 14. The reason for the change is the establishment of cloudy weather in most regions of Ukraine. This results in low efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding increase in electricity consumption from the general grid.
Yesterday, on November 16, the daily consumption peak was recorded during daytime. It was 8.7% higher than the peak of the previous Sunday, November 9. The reasons for such changes are lower temperatures in most regions and a smaller volume of consumption limitation measures.
The company noted that the need for rational electricity use will remain throughout the entire day.
