Trump: Draft Bill In Congress Sanctioning Countries Trading With Russia

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Nov 17 (KUNA) -- President Donald Trump said late Sunday that the GOP was drafting a bill at the Congress imposing sanctions on countries trading with Russia due to Moscow's continuous war in Ukraine.
Speaking to the press at the Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, President Trump affirmed that the bill, if passed, would punish any country doing business with Russia.
He indicated that Iran might be added to the sanctions list due to its dealings with Russia.
Senate Majority Leader, Republican John Thune, expressed desire in late October to vote on a draft bill concerning sanctions on Russia.
The US is attempting to dry up Russian oil and energy resources to prevent Moscow from using such resources as a "tool for war" in the Ukraine.
Since the war began, the US and allies have used sanctions as a measure to pressure Russia with the US continuously announcing sanctions on Russian figures and sectors. (end) amm
