Zelensky said that finding concrete paths to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine was one of the key topics of the meeting. The sides discussed what kind of pressure from China and the U.S. would be necessary to force Russia to stop its war.

The President of Ukraine and the President of the Hellenic Parliament share the same stance: sustainable peace must be based on respect for international law.

The parties also discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Greece at the parliamentary level. Kaklamanis emphasized that Greek lawmakers are ready to work with their Ukrainian counterparts in all possible areas.

Zelensky thanked Greece, the President of the Parliament, and all Greek MPs for their support of Ukraine since the very beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression.

According to the President, this support - military, financial, and humanitarian - has been essential.

“Today, we have a new path ahead of us – a future in terms of energy stability. I am grateful for all these expressions of support from the Greek people,” Zelensky said.

Kaklamanis reaffirmed that Greece and the Hellenic Parliament would continue to stand with Ukraine.

“The Hellenic Parliament wishes for peace to come to Ukraine as soon as possible. And to achieve durable peace, we must first secure a ceasefire,” he noted.

As reported, Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Greek state company DEPA Commercial have signed a Letter of Intent on natural gas supplies to Ukraine for the winter season as part of President Zelensky's meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
