Starlink Activates Its Internet Service in Senegal
(MENAFN) Elon Musk's satellite broadband provider has activated service in Senegal, extending its footprint across the African continent, the company announced Wednesday.
"Starlink's high-speed, low-latency internet is now available in Senegal!" the SpaceX subsidiary declared via X, the US social media platform.
The satellite internet division now delivers connectivity to over 150 nations, territories, and additional markets worldwide, utilizing a network of low Earth orbit satellites to bring broadband access to isolated and poorly-connected regions.
Starlink has aggressively scaled operations throughout Africa, activating service in more than 20 countries across the continent since 2023 as part of its strategy to bridge the digital divide in underserved markets.
