Egypt Announces Discovery of Vast Western Desert Gas Field

(MENAFN) Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources disclosed Saturday the identification of substantial natural gas deposits within the nation's Western Desert territory.

Badr El Din Petroleum Company located the hydrocarbon reserves at the Badr-15 sector via exploration well BED 15-31, representing part of Egypt's ongoing campaign to incrementally boost indigenous energy output and diminish import dependency, the ministry revealed through official communication.

The extraction site possesses projected daily yields reaching 16 million cubic feet of gas alongside 750 barrels of condensate, anticipated to inject 15 billion cubic feet of gas into Egypt's aggregate reserves, according to ministry data.

The geological formation throughout the region undergoes renewed assessment to pinpoint optimal locations for future drilling operations, ministry officials added.
