Drone Sighting Forces Flights Suspension at Brussels Airport

(MENAFN) Brussels Airport temporarily suspended air traffic late Tuesday after a drone was spotted over the airport, Belgian media reported.

“Just before eight o’clock (1900GMT), there was a report of a drone over the airport grounds," said Kurt Verwilligen, a spokesperson for Belgian air navigation and traffic service provider Skeyes, according to media.

After roughly 30 minutes, Skeyes confirmed that flights had begun to resume.

The disruption also affected Liege Airport, which announced a temporary closure and the diversion of flights to Maastricht due to drone activity.

Residents reported seeing six drones near Kleine-Brogel Air Base, while police confirmed two visual sightings, media noted.

Belgium has faced similar drone incidents in recent days, with reports on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
