Doha: The Qatari Gulf Classic Car Association (QGCCA) is set to host the 6th Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Competition & Exhibition 2025 with the active participation of the Federation of Historic Vehicles (FIVA) from November 19 to 23.

This event, being held under the patronage of the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums (QM) H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, will take place at Medina Central, Pearl Island, showcasing exceptional participation from the GCC states through an impressive array of luxury classic cars that represent various historical categories, highlighting the esteemed reputation this event has achieved on the regional level.

In preparation for the automobile gathering, QGCCA held a press conference to unveil the event's specifics, which was attended by senior QGCCA officials as well as representatives from the exhibition and competition's curators and supporters, including the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM), QM, and the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani Museum.

Eng Abdul Latif Ali Al Yafai, Board Member and Secretary-General of QGCCA, underscored the significance of collaboration with partner organizations to guarantee the event's success, which will feature an unprecedented increase in both the space allocated and the number of participants, along with the distribution of valuable material and in-kind awards, thereby enhancing excitement and providing greater motivation for participants.

The vehicles have been categorized into five groups established by the specialized judging committee in accordance with FIVA standards. A panel of six race officials has been assembled, comprising four international stewards with extensive experience in vehicle evaluation across all classes, who have participated in numerous international motorsport events, and two Qatari stewards who have served in four previous tournaments.

The remaining five excellence awards will be awarded to the finest exceptional luxury car, the most representative and eye-catching car, the best-preserved authentic car, the best-preserved local heritage car, and the Best Car in the Exhibition Award. The winners will be revealed and honoured during the closing ceremony on November 23.

Deputy CEO for Operations at Qatar Museums Mohamed Zidan Al Zidan confirmed that QM will showcase a single car, symbolising engagement without competing against Qatari owners. He emphasized the establishment of a unique educational programme aimed at introducing school and university students to the event, while also highlighting classic cars as masterpieces that blend engineering, art, and design.

Al Zidan further noted that 20 material and in-kind awards have been designated for the winners, which include 15 prizes for the top three positions across the five categories. These categories encompass vehicles from pre-1947, 1948-1959, 1960-1970, 1971-1981, and 1982-1995.
