KUNA, Pakistan's APP Ink Mou On Media, Communications, IT Partnership
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
KUWAIT, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- KUNA and Pakistan's Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand news exchange and media training in line with advances in communications and information technology (IT).
The pact was signed during a virtual ceremony hosted at KUNA headquarters by KUNA Acting Director General Mohammad Al-Manaei and APP Managing Director Mohammad Asim Khichi, in the presence of Pakistan's Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Zafar Iqbal.
The deal strengthens media ties, supports credible, professional news, and opens broader training and expertise sharing, Al-Manaei stated.
Meanwhile, Khichi said it launches a new phase in joint work - covering staff development, exchange of news, reports, information, and photos - and helps explore new cooperation opportunities.
Under the deal, each side will receive the other's content through available technical means, keep the essence of received items, and credit sources ("APP" for APP stories used by KUNA and "KUNA" for KUNA stories used by APP).
Both may request additional information, will facilitate their correspondents' work, cooperate on coverage of events and official visits, and coordinate positions at joint meetings.
They will also study exchanging bulletins, books, archives, and expertise.
For staff exchanges and training, the host covers accommodation and local costs; the sending party covers travel.
Attendees included Deputy Director General for the Editorial Sector at KUNA Esam Al-Ghanim, KUNA Acting Editor-in-Chief Mohammad Al-Bahar, Director of the Director General's Office Lamia Al-Farsi, and Director of the Coordination and Follow-up Office at KUNA Shorouq Sadeqi. (end)
