Turkish Airlines recommences flights to Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah
(MENAFN) Turkish Airlines has resumed scheduled flights to Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, after suspending the route in April 2023. The airline, which already serves Baghdad, Najaf, Erbil, Basra, and Kirkuk, now operates to six Iraqi cities.
Ahmet Bolat, chairman of Turkish Airlines, highlighted Sulaymaniyah’s historical, cultural, and natural significance, adding that the flights will strengthen economic and social ties between Türkiye and Iraq.
The service will run four times a week—Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—between Istanbul Airport and Sulaymaniyah International Airport, with plans to operate daily from March 27, 2026.
