Zelenskyy Says No Formal European Piece Frameworks Received

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy disclosed Monday that no formal European blueprint for ending the war has reached his desk, even as multiple continental nations continue advancing peace proposals.

"The important thing in this matter is, have I, as the president of Ukraine, seen this plan? No. There are different European views and proposals for a peaceful settlement," Zelenskyy stated during a briefing, according to a news agency.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that neither US President Donald Trump nor European counterparts have successfully pressured Russia into direct peace talks.

Since launching his second presidential term in January, Trump has spearheaded initiatives to broker an end to the conflict. The American president held discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last August and subsequently proposed a three-way summit including Zelenskyy. Moscow has maintained that any Putin-Zelenskyy meeting demands extensive groundwork and must yield concrete results.

Plans for another Trump-Putin summit in Budapest ultimately collapsed.

"Consultations are ongoing at the advisory level, but no final plan is currently on the table," Zelenskyy explained, noting that should a European framework emerge, "Ukraine will discuss it with the United States, as the Americans have their own vision."

The rumored European peace framework—sparse on specifics—reportedly centers on implementing a ceasefire along existing frontlines before launching comprehensive negotiations.

Zelenskyy also revealed that American representatives will arrive in Ukraine within days to negotiate drone manufacturing arrangements.

"The United States drone deal team will be in Ukraine next week," the president confirmed. He specified that Strategic Adviser Oleksandr Kamyshin will champion Ukraine's exports throughout Europe, while National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov will manage engagement across the Middle East and Asia.

The president acknowledged a critical $750 million funding gap in Ukraine's $2 billion gas import requirements, though an additional €127 million in European assistance is forthcoming.

Zelenskyy announced Ukraine will maintain regular virtual summits with international leaders focused on coordinating energy sector support, with the next session set for one week from now.
