Andhra Pradesh Aims To Become Global Innovation & Industrial Hub

(MENAFN- KNN India) Amaravati, Nov 3 (KNN) The Andhra Pradesh government has unveiled a strategy to position the State as a global hub for industrial investment and innovation by integrating advanced technologies across the industrial, IT and MSME sectors.

The initiative follows the signing of an MoU with Google to establish a USD 15-billion artificial intelligence data centre in Visakhapatnam, a move that places the city prominently on the global digital map.

Principal Secretary for Industries and Commerce Dr. N. Yuvaraj said the State is preparing a detailed action plan in collaboration with national and international experts to support sustainable industrial growth, technology adoption and large-scale job creation.

During a meeting with A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy, Media Adviser, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Southern States and Adviser, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Dr. Yuvaraj praised the Centre's ADEETIE scheme, describing it as a“major lifeline for MSMEs”, reported TNIE.

The ADEETIE scheme provides technical support and financial incentives, including interest subvention, to encourage adoption of energy-efficient technologies aimed at lowering energy use and improving manufacturing competitiveness.

Andhra Pradesh has been selected for pilot projects in West Godavari's fisheries cluster and the glass and refractory clusters in East and West Godavari, where initiatives such as introducing energy-efficient heat pumps and gas-fired furnaces are expected to deliver 30–40 percent energy savings.

With a national outlay of Rs 1,000 crore, BEE estimates the scheme could spur Rs 9,000 crore in investment in energy-efficiency measures.

Dr. Yuvaraj said the State will attract further international attention at the upcoming CII Partnership Summit on November 14–15, following the Google investment.

“For the first time, a tech giant has chosen Andhra Pradesh as its AI hub-marking a new era for our industrial and digital growth,” he said.

As part of the State's technology-driven industrial roadmap, an Industry 4.0 Technology Centre is planned in Amaravati, focusing on artificial intelligence, IoT and blockchain to help MSMEs remain globally competitive.

Aligning with India's climate commitments-including a 45 percent reduction in emission intensity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070-Dr. Yuvaraj said the State aims to lead as a premier global destination for investment and technology.
