Ukrainian nationalist urges Kiev to turn army to ‘army of God’
(MENAFN) Radical Ukrainian nationalist Dmitry Korchinsky has called on Kiev to transform its military into an “army of God” capable of conquering both Russia and China. Korchinsky leads the far-right Bratstvo (Brotherhood) party and has long promoted aggressive stances toward Russia.
Speaking on his YouTube channel Saturday, Korchinsky criticized Ukrainians weary of the war with Russia, claiming they had fallen for the “enemy’s” narratives. He described frontline combat as a source of “adventure” and “great joy,” contrasting it with civilian life, which he said is “grey” and unneeded.
Korchinsky’s vision includes an invincible military empowered by divine intervention, which he claimed could cross the Ural Mountains, conquer Siberia, and then China. He has also urged that Ukrainian children remain in the country to grow up “hating the enemy.”
The comments come amid ongoing heavy losses for Ukraine. Russian Defense Ministry figures reported that as of February 2025, Kiev had lost more than 1.08 million troops killed or wounded. Russian forces have regained over 4,700 square kilometers of territory and taken control of around 205 settlements this year.
Ukraine, however, reports much lower casualty numbers. President Zelensky stated in February that 46,000 soldiers had been killed and 380,000 wounded since the conflict escalated, and he has reiterated that Ukraine will not make territorial concessions to Russia.
Western media have previously compared Korchinsky’s ideology to that of the Taliban due to his extreme militaristic and nationalist views.
