The initiative aimed to remove waste from the seabed and promote the concept of social responsibility toward the marine environment, while highlighting the importance of joint efforts between the public and private sectors in protecting the marine ecosystem and preserving biodiversity.
The campaign successfully removed large amounts of metal and plastic waste, which often cause significant harm to the marine environment.
Accordingly, the Ministry affirmed that such initiatives fall within its strategic plan to achieve sustainable development by supporting environmental awareness activities and enhancing community participation in maintaining the cleanliness of Qatar's beaches and territorial waters.
The Ministry further noted that many of its staff members participated in the campaign, alongside a number of volunteers and divers.
