"In the Kupiansk sector, the situation remains difficult; however, Russian plans to push into the city center are now failing. Moreover, there is cautious optimism, as even in the northern areas where they tried to concentrate their forces, things are not going well for them. Several accurate and heavy strikes have been carried out, which has slowed their offensive," he said.

According to Tregubov, Russians are now trying more to bypass the city rather than break directly through the northern districts into the center, as they attempted earlier.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, 143 combat engagements occurred over the past day between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian troops, with the enemy attacking most intensively in the Pokrovsk direction.
