Amman, November 2 (Petra) – A high-level UN delegation on Sunday wrapped up its official visit to the Kingdom, after being briefed on Jordan's progress in achieving sustainable development.
The delegation was comprised of ambassadors from the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
During the visit, the delegation met with a number of senior officials and toured several projects and programs in Amman, Madaba, Aqaba, Karak, Al-Ghabawi, and the Zaatari refugee camp in Mafraq governorate.
The team affirmed the UN's "continued support" for Jordan's development priorities and its Economic Modernization Vision (EMV).
The delegates also reviewed the impact of programs and initiatives implemented by UN agencies in the climate action, inclusive growth, and social protection areas.
Additionally, they commended the "close" cooperation between the three UN agencies in Jordan with national and local partners, and the Kingdom's tangible progress.
On future steps, they called for continuing joint work within the EMV's framework, in a bid to enhance the comprehensive and sustainable development process and achieve resilience and empowerment in various sectors.
