Doha, Qatar: A high-speed train carrying hundreds of passengers rammed into a fruit lorry at a level crossing in Meteren, Netherlands.

CCTV footage from ProRail shows the fruit-loaded truck on October 30 reverse on to tracks as the barriers closed. As an incoming train crashes straight into the vehicle, dozens of pears could be seen raining down and scatter across the line.

The crash damaged tracks and halted services between Geldermalsen and Den Bosch.

Five people inside the truck were slightly injured, while the train passengers were unharmed.

The fruit and some of the havoc have been cleaned up and the train that drove on the truck has now been retracked.

According to ProRail, after cleaning up, there will be mapping and preparations for the restoration work on the rail tracks will start which will last several days.

The video quickly went viral across all social media platforms, including X, Tiktok and Reddit.
