Premier: Grand Museum Serves As Outstanding Example Of Egypt-Japan Partnership


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Nov 1 (KUNA) - Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Saturday that the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) constitutes a prominent model of fruitful cultural partnership between Egypt and Japan.
This came during a meeting Madbouly held with president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka and his accompanying delegation during their visit to Cairo to partake in the inauguration of the GEM, Egypt's Cabinet said in a statement.
Madbouly expressed desire to continue joint efforts in operating the museum, and resorting monuments, it noted.
He referred to well-seated and long-standing partnership between Cairo and Tokyo since 1954, voicing appreciation to JICA in backing development efforts in Egypt in varied sectors, it stated.
Egypt's premier reviewed with JICA cooperation fields which includes the subway in Cairo, the GEM, the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, supporting Egypt Vision 2030 and more, it noted.
Meanwhile, Tanaka appreciated his partaking in opening the GEM, lauding historic relations and cooperation between both sides in multiple domains.
Inaugurating the GEM is a proper opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the two sides in civil aviation field and developing ports, he stressed. (end)
