(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
KUWAIT, Nov 1 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila has issued a resolution forming an extraordinary committee to draft bylaws for the cooperative sector.
The commission, to be chaired by the undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, will group a number of ranking personnel of the ministry of social affairs tasked with handling cooperative affairs.
Minister Al-Huwaila said in a statement on Saturday that he decision was compatible with instructions of the sagacious political leadership for overhauling the sector, boosting its role at the development and social levels. It also affirms the ministry's keenness on upgrading the legislations and regulations that back up the cooperative field.
The said commission will study and revise the current cooperative regulations, enact new rules for enhancing governance and transparency, the minister indicated.
It is also tasked to prepare a final report about its mission, along with the proposed bylaws, in no longer than 60 days, with possibility to extend the grace period for a single month. (end)
