Chinese Army Sends Forces To Monitor Philippine Patrols In S. China Sea


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIJING, Nov 1 (KUNA) -- The Chinese military said on Saturday it monitored and tracked a joint patrol organized by the Philippines with other countries in South China Sea as destabilizing the region.
Spokesperson of the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Tian Junli said that the patrol carried out the Philippines over the last couple of days "has "seriously undermined regional peace and stability", 'according to Xinhua News Agency.
Calling the Philippines "a troublemaker" in the region, the spokesperson said, "The theater command forces remain on high alert and will resolutely safeguard national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests."
South China Sea is deemed a major flashpoint in Asia due to sea conflicts between China and several other countries, including the Philippines. (end)
