Egyptian, Colombian Presidents Discuss Bilateral Relations, Regional, International Developments
Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Friday with his Colombian counterpart, Gustavo Petro, who is currently visiting Egypt, to discuss the latest regional and international developments, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.
The Egyptian Presidency stated in a press release that during the meeting, Sisi reviewed the outcomes of the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit and the progress in implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
He praised Colombia's initiative to provide humanitarian aid to the Strip and noted Egypt's intention to host the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza next November.
For his part, the Colombian President stressed the importance of full commitment to implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and expediting the reconstruction process.
He also indicated his country's readiness to actively participate in efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement and its desire to continue providing humanitarian assistance.
