IDF violates Gaza truce deal by launching chains of attacks

(MENAFN) The Israeli military launched a new wave of air and artillery attacks across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening, defying the ceasefire agreement. The escalation followed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s directive to carry out “immediate, powerful strikes” in the territory.

Reports from the ground indicated that one airstrike hit the Shati refugee camp in western Gaza City, while artillery shells landed east of Deir al-Balah in the central part of the enclave. Additional missile strikes were reported near the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City.

According to local media accounts, an Israeli drone also targeted the courtyard of Shifa Hospital, located beyond the “yellow line,” an area from which Israeli forces had previously pulled back under the terms of the ceasefire.

Earlier on Tuesday, Netanyahu had instructed the army to execute “immediate, powerful strikes” against Hamas in response to what he described as ceasefire violations.
