China Urges Cooperation With US Ahead Of Xi-Trump Meeting
Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed hope that China and the United States will work together to create favorable conditions for the development of bilateral relations through high-level exchanges.
During a phone call on Monday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Wang noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping and US counterpart Donald Trump share a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect, describing it as the most valuable strategic asset in China-US relations.
The conversation comes ahead of a planned meeting between Xi and Trump in South Korea later this week, on the sidelines of the APEC CEO Summit.
