(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah on Monday discussed with Mamadou Sow, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation to the GCC, ways to strengthen joint humanitarian cooperation.
Al-Huwailah told KUNA that the meeting reflects Kuwait's commitment to reinforcing strategic partnerships with leading international humanitarian organizations, particularly the ICRC, reaffirming Kuwait's longstanding role in helping people affected by crises worldwide.
Sow praised Kuwait's pioneering humanitarian efforts, represented by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), and their strong cooperation with the ICRC.
The meeting reviewed areas of collaboration such as promoting international humanitarian law, supporting missing-persons files, the Restoring Family Links program, disaster preparedness, and psychosocial support.
Sow also outlined the ICRC's global humanitarian role and noted that a high-level strategic dialogue next week will highlight Kuwait's leadership in regional and international relief efforts through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KRCS, and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. (end)
