Trump Calls on DOJ to Launch Probe into 2020 Presidential Election
(MENAFN) Donald Trump has called on the Department of Justice to launch an investigation into the 2020 presidential election, escalating his allegations of electoral misconduct with stark warnings about future contests.
The former president, who returned to the White House in January 2025, leveled fresh accusations Sunday via his Truth Social platform, demanding federal scrutiny of what he characterized as historic wrongdoing.
"What's worse, the NBA Players cheating at cards, and probably much else, or the Democrats cheating on Elections?. The 2020 Presidential Election, being Rigged and Stolen, is a far bigger SCANDAL," Trump wrote in his weekend post.
Intensifying his rhetoric, he added: "Look what happened to our Country when a Crooked Moron became our 'President!' We now know everything."
Trump pressed the DOJ to pursue the matter "with as much 'gusto' as befitting the biggest SCANDAL in American history."
The president framed the investigation as critical to preventing future electoral issues, issuing an explicit warning about the 2026 congressional races.
"If not, it will happen again, including the upcoming Midterms," Trump cautioned.
In the same statement, Trump attacked mail-in and early voting systems while advocating for voter identification requirements. He singled out California's ballot initiatives, alleging that millions of ballots were being "shipped."
Concluding his message, Trump issued an urgent directive: "GET SMART REPUBLICANS, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE."
