I am a doctoral student in ancient history at the University of Lorraine, under the supervision of Christian-Georges Schwentzel. My dissertation focuses on American Egyptomania, from the end of the 18th century to 1894, and focuses, in particular, on the ways in which ancient Egypt was mobilized in the political and racial discourses of the American South. I hold a master's degree in Egyptology from the University of Lille and I am also a lecturer in the history of antiquity at the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France. I have published several articles on Cleopatra and on the reception of antiquity in American culture, and I contributed to the catalog of the Cleopatra exhibition at the Arab World Institute.
