(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Svyrydenko emphasized this during the joint opening of Ukrainian-Slovak intergovernmental consultations with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, which are being held today in Košice.

“At present, the European Union is discussing the use of frozen Russian assets - the so-called reparations loan. We will strongly ask for your support, because this resource will allow Ukraine to ensure macroeconomic stability and to purchase the weapons necessary for our defense,” she said.

Svyrydenko also expressed gratitude to Slovakia for its consistent support of Ukraine's European integration. She noted that during today's meeting, the parties will discuss several key areas, primarily energy security.

“Given the EU's strategy to diversify energy sources away from Russia, I believe we are obliged to create new reliable supply routes. We are ready not only to offer alternative sources, but also to technically synchronize our systems to protect Slovakia from any risks and to establish a new regional energy hub,” Svyrydenko stated.

The consultations will also address progress in the modernization of cross-border infrastructure projects and defense cooperation.

Svyrydenko underlined that the core philosophy of cooperation with Slovakia is the principle of mutual benefit and mutual trust. She expressed confidence that all decisions to be adopted at today's joint session will strengthen the resilience, security, and competitiveness of both Ukraine and Slovakia.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko earlier proposed to Prime Minister Robert Fico that the sides discuss the possibility of opening a Ukrainian school in Slovaki.
