India's Digital Public Platforms Drive Inclusive Growth & Innovation: RBI Gov


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Oct 16 (KNN) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra presented an overview of India's Digital Public Platform (DPP) ecosystem during a high-level dialogue held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C.

He underscored how India's digital public platforms have emerged as a key driver of inclusive growth and innovation, demonstrating how scalable, cost-effective digital infrastructure can serve millions effectively.

According to an official statement from the RBI, the central bank organised a session titled 'High-Level Dialogue on Forging Economic Resilience through Digital Public Platforms' on October 14, 2025.

The event aimed to share India's experience in building resilient, inclusive digital systems and to explore avenues for international collaboration in digital public infrastructure.

During his address, Malhotra outlined the evolution and functioning of India's DPP ecosystem, underscoring their role in advancing digitalisation and financial inclusion, particularly in facilitating government transfer payments.

He highlighted how platforms such as Aadhaar for digital identity and the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for real-time payments have transformed public service delivery, enabling efficient, transparent, and secure access to financial and government services.

The dialogue drew participation from central banks of 38 countries, including 22 governors and senior policy officials.

Governor Malhotra reaffirmed India's commitment to sharing its expertise and collaborating with global partners to advance the international digital transformation agenda.
