Dera Ismail Khan police foiled a major terrorist attack on the Police Training School in Ratta Kulachi after a fierce overnight gun battle, killing six militants belonging to the banned outfit Fitna-tul-Khawarij. Three policemen embraced martyrdom and six others sustained injuries in the exchange of fire.

According to details, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden truck into the school's main gate late at night, causing part of the wall to collapse and instantly killing two policemen stationed there.

Moments later, several attackers disguised in different uniforms entered the premises and opened fire. The on-duty personnel retaliated bravely, resulting in another policeman's martyrdom during the encounter.

Upon receiving the report, DPO Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmad, accompanied by a heavy police contingent, reached the site and led the counter-operation, later joined by RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar, who boosted the morale of the fighting officers.
