Profile Articles Activity

Yuval Katz is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media at Loughborough University. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication, holding a joint appointment at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Global Communication (CARGC) and the Centre on Digital Culture and Society (CDCS). Yuval holds a PhD from the University of Michigan.
A scholar and a poet, his work inspects how media help us rethink the relationship between people involved in intractable, violent conflicts. He is currently writing a book titled In Search of a Medium: Palestinian and Jewish Encounters in Media Texts and Industry Practices, where he examines Israeli media spaces in which Israeli Jews and Palestinians collaborate creatively. Focusing on popular television shows, mainstream news organizations, and a digital activist project, he argues that the practices of Jews and Palestinians in these industries and the texts they produce together undermine the ostensibly inescapable animosity dictated by state ideology.
