Pakistan Army Test-Fires New Fatah-4 Cruise Missile With 750-Km Range
The Pakistan Army announced it has successfully test-fired a newly developed cruise missile named Fatah-4, with a range of 750 kilometers. The missile is equipped with advanced avionics and navigation systems designed to enhance accuracy.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 1, accompanied by a video of the launch, the military said the weapon's terrain-hugging capability and precision allow it to evade“enemy defense systems.”
Officials noted that Fatah-4 will further strengthen Pakistan's missile command by enhancing the range, lethality, and survivability of its conventional missile arsenal.
The test was conducted in the presence of Pakistan's Army Chief of Staff, senior commanders, military officers, and the team of scientists and engineers behind the missile's development.
Pakistan's president, prime minister, and other top officials hailed the test as a major achievement, congratulating the scientists, engineers, and armed forces. However, the military statement offered no detailed explanation of how the missile evades defense systems.
Pakistan has long referred to India as its primary adversary, and the announcement comes amid continued regional tensions. Indian and Pakistani officials have frequently traded claims about downed aircraft in recent conflicts.
Analysts say the Fatah-4 test underscores Pakistan's push to modernize its missile arsenal, a move likely to further fuel the strategic rivalry with India in South Asia.
