Türkiye's Stock Exchange Opens Monday in Red


(MENAFN) Türkiye's benchmark stock index started the week on a downbeat note, opening Monday at 11,112.30 points, reflecting a decline of 0.35%, or 38.89 points, compared to the previous session.

The slide follows a sharp drop on Friday, when the BIST 100 fell 1.99%, closing at 11,151.20 points. Trading activity reached 143 billion Turkish liras (approximately $3.45 billion) on the day.

As of 10:00 AM local time (0700 GMT), the Turkish lira stood at 41.5760 against the US dollar, 47.7610 to the euro, and 55.9140 to the British pound.

Meanwhile, gold prices were recorded at $3,817.30 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was priced at $68.80 per barrel.
