(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook following a meeting chaired by Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov.

The meeting was devoted to the development of the capabilities of the Defense Forces in the context of a dynamic situation on the battlefield and rapid technological development.

"The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to adapt to new challenges, in particular in the direction of countering enemy unmanned aerial vehicles. The main focus was on the effective detection and destruction of enemy UAVs , in particular those equipped with jet engines. The scaling up of units armed with interceptor drones continues, and the training of operators of these systems is being stepped up," the statement said.

One of the priority areas for the development of the Ukrainian army remains the use of ground-based robotic systems (GRS).

"The number of combat missions using GRS is growing: logistics, evacuation, engineering support, combat reconnaissance, and assault support. The organizational structure of the relevant units is being improved, the number of trained specialists is growing, and units are being equipped with modernized platforms that are resistant to enemy electronic warfare," the General Staff said.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening capabilities in the field of radio-technical reconnaissance. The technical base is being expanded and the number of trained specialists in this field is increasing.

A separate item on the agenda was strengthening the protection of port infrastructure. The development of an effective system for detecting and neutralizing enemy unmanned surface vessels (USVs) is ongoing.

"In today's world, war has become a constant technological competition. The enemy is actively copying Ukrainian technologies, which requires us to be flexible, responsive, and proactive. That is why constant monitoring of the combat space, testing of the latest tactics and technological solutions, their rapid implementation and scaling in the army are the key to maintaining a technological advantage over the enemy," the General Staff emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, there were 173 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops during the day, with the enemy actively attacking in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivsk, Lyman, Toretsk, and Huliaypole directions.
