Chaos Mars PTI Jalsa As KP CM Urges Judiciary To Uphold Constitution
A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) jalsa in Peshawar descended into chaos on Saturday as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur called on the judiciary to deliver justice strictly in line with the constitution.
Addressing thousands of supporters, Gandapur said the PTI has always stood for constitutional supremacy and human rights, warning judges to base their rulings on law and justice. He reaffirmed that his government opposes any new security operation and remains committed to the party founder's vision of“true freedom.”
But his speech was repeatedly interrupted by unrest inside the venue. Eyewitnesses said sections of the crowd jeered the chief minister, hurled bottles toward the stage and shouted slogans. Women in a separate enclosure left early after protesters breached the barrier and police failed to maintain order.

Party leaders who followed Gandapur delivered fiery remarks. Senior figure Junaid Akbar threatened retribution against anyone seen as disloyal to the party's founder, declaring that those“sitting on chairs” would be held accountable. Central spokesman Sheikh Waqas Akram branded the federal government a“puppet” regime and accused Punjab's rulers of mocking flood victims.
Former federal minister Salman Akram Raja described a recent jail meeting with the PTI founder, quoting him as vowing never to bow. Raja rejected any military operations in the province and pledged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's resources would not be surrendered to the centre.
Other leaders, including Usman Dar, Asad Qaiser and Barrister Gohar, attacked political rivals and repeated claims that February's election was stolen. Qaiser urged peaceful trade with Afghanistan, while Gohar insisted“200 million people” still stand behind the jailed leader.
Intended as a show of strength, the Peshawar gathering instead highlighted rifts within PTI ranks and exposed serious lapses in crowd control, raising concerns about escalating political tensions in the province.
