War Against Terrorism Not Over Yet: LG Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Chairs Unified Headquarters (UHQ) Meeting

Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said the war against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is far from over and called for a whole-of-government approach to tackle radicalization and the drug menace.

Sinha chaired the Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan to review the current security scenario in Jammuand Kashmir.

Congratulating security forces for recent successful anti-terror operations, the LG said,“War against terrorism is not over yet. Kinetic and non-kinetic operations must continue. We must maintain the momentum and take stringent action against terrorism and its entire ecosystem.”

He called for a 'Whole of Government Approach' to effectively tackle radicalization and the drug menace, directing agencies to continuously adapt to evolving threats.

The meeting also focused on strengthening coordination among security forces, intelligence agencies, police, and civil administration to maintain peace and stability across the Union Territory.

The meeting saw the participation of Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, senior Army commanders, Air Vice Marshal Vikas Sharma, officers from CAPFs, J&K Police, intelligence agencies, and the civil administration.

12 Tourist Spots Thrown Open Across J&K

Meanwhile Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday announced the reopening of 12 tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir, which had been temporarily closed as a precaution following the Pahalgam terror attack on tourists on April 22.
