MSC Launches Direct Brazil-Abu Dhabi Cargo Route


(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC ), a global leader in container shipping, announced this week the launch of a direct refrigerated cargo route between Brazil and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, starting in October.

In its statement, the company highlighted the direct service between South America and the Middle East, with Abu Dhabi also serving as an important transshipment hub on the route. The route will reach destinations beyond the UAE in Asia and can also be used for transferring products to other Gulf countries.

“South American exporters and Middle Eastern importers will benefit from faster transit times to Abu Dhabi and other key ports in the region,” MSC said in the statement, noting that from South America, cargo will reach Abu Dhabi in under 33 days, and can arrive in Shuwaikh, Kuwait, in 38 days, and Hamad, Qatar, in 39 days.

The first voyage will depart from Itajaí, Brazil's Santa Catarina state. According to MSC, the route will follow this itinerary: Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Itajaí, Navegantes, Paranaguá, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Walvis Bay, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Qingdao, Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore, Colombo, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Paranaguá, Itapoá, Itajaí, and Buenos Aires.
