Mitsubishi Electric To Launch KEGMIL Digital Maintenance Platform In Singapore
September 25, 2025 by Sam Francis
Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions (MEBS) will introduce KEGMIL, a cloud-based field service management platform, to streamline elevator and escalator maintenance, starting in Singapore from October 2025.
The company plans to expand the system across Southeast Asia and eventually other global markets.
KEGMIL, developed by Singapore-based FTV LABS, digitizes much of the manual work still common in field services. Through a mobile app, it enables everything from issuing work instructions and checklists to real-time progress tracking, emergency dispatching using GPS, and electronic reporting with digital signatures.
MEBS said pre-launch tests showed KEGMIL reduced the time needed for worker assignment planning by about 90 percent and cut the effort required to prepare maintenance reports by half.
The platform will operate alongside M's BRIDGE, MEBS's remote monitoring and inspection system, to improve efficiency and deliver more consistent maintenance services.
Key features include standardized workflows to ensure uniform service quality, faster allocation of maintenance staff during breakdowns, and digital records complete with photos and videos to support emergency repairs.
By consolidating paper-based processes into one app, MEBS expects to tackle challenges created by an aging workforce and growing demand for safe, reliable vertical transport.
The company said the system also lays the foundation for future use of AI, IoT, and machine learning to optimize global workforce deployment and standardize recovery operations.
Elevators and escalators are critical infrastructure worldwide, with maintenance demand increasing as urbanization accelerates. MEBS said KEGMIL will help improve service quality while addressing labor shortages and advancing digital transformation in the sector.
KEGMIL has already been applied in other mechanical and electrical engineering fields, including medical equipment servicing, and its introduction into Mitsubishi Electric's operations marks its largest deployment in the elevator and escalator market to date.
