Erdogan Set to Hold Talks with Trump at White House

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump is set to welcome Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the White House on Thursday for a crucial bilateral meeting.

The two leaders will convene in the Oval Office for direct talks, followed by a working lunch. Key topics on the agenda include strengthening bilateral relations across trade, investment, and defense, as well as addressing pressing regional challenges.

This encounter occurs amid escalating instability in the Middle East, as Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza fuel global demands for a political resolution to the Palestinian crisis.

“I believe our meeting with President Trump will contribute to ending wars and conflicts in our region within the framework of our shared vision of global peace and will further strengthen the cooperation between our countries,” Erdogan stated earlier.

Erdogan, who arrived in Washington on Wednesday after attending the UN General Assembly session in New York, recently joined Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at a reception honoring world leaders.

On Tuesday, Erdogan and Trump also participated in a multilateral Gaza meeting alongside other global leaders at the UN.

During his visit to the US capital, Erdogan is residing at Blair House, the official guest residence for visiting heads of state.
