Gaza Genocide: Israeli Strikes Kill Over 65,400 Civilians

(MENAFN) At least 65,419 Palestinians have died in Israel’s devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported Wednesday.

In a recent update, the ministry revealed that hospitals received 37 bodies in the past 24 hours, including four extracted from beneath rubble, alongside 175 new injuries. This pushes the total number of casualties to 167,160 amid the ongoing Israeli assault.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the statement warned, underscoring the dire rescue conditions.

The ministry further disclosed that Israeli army fire claimed five lives and wounded 20 others among Palestinians attempting to access humanitarian aid in the last day alone. Since May 27, at least 2,531 Palestinians have been killed and over 18,531 wounded while seeking aid.

Renewed Israeli military operations began on March 18 after the collapse of a January ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal, resulting in 12,823 deaths and 54,944 injuries.

Adding to mounting international scrutiny, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israel faces a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice over its ongoing military campaign in the territory.
