SIDBI Holds India's First MSME Association Conclave Launches Portal For Associations
The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and representatives of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including Chief Guest M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), and Manoj Mittal, Chairman & Managing Director, SIDBI.
“The focus of the initiative is on the capacity building of MSME associations and enabling the leveraging of aggregation to MSMEs' access to inputs and services,” said Manoj Mittal, CMD, SIDBI.
A highlight of the event was the launch of the Industry Associations Portal, aimed at strengthening collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Four panel sessions were held during the day.
Session 1, chaired by Anil Bharadwaj, Secretary General, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), discussed best practices among industry associations to scale impact through collaboration and innovation, featuring leaders from Laghu Udyog Bharti, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association, ALEAP, and others.
Session 2, chaired by Manoj Muttathil Ayyappan, Joint Secretary, DFS, focused on empowering MSMEs by facilitating access to government schemes, with participation from officials of the Ministry of MSME, RBI, IBBI, and related agencies.
Session 3, chaired by Sai Prasad Somayajula, Chief Growth and Revenue Officer, Samunnati Agri Value Chain Solutions Pvt Ltd., explored lessons from the Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) model to strengthen industry association structures. Discussions were supplemented by presentations on AI for MSMEs, the Industry Association Portal, and D&B solutions.
The conclave concluded with session 4, an open-house discussion, featuring live opinion polling of participants via a mobile app, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement across industry associations.
The conclave was attended by over 150 people from over 90 associations from all parts of India.
