PDTRA Marks World Tourism Day With Special Events In Petra

Petra, Sept. 24 (Petra) -Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) announced organization of special events to mark World Tourism Day, held in parallel with the New7Wonders Summit, from Sept. 24–27 in Petra.
In a statement, PDTRA said these events will feature tours of Petra's archaeological sites, cultural and artistic performances, specialized panel discussions on sustainable tourism.
Under these activities, PDTRA added that local and international cooperation agreements will be signed and community and handicraft activities to highlight Nabataean heritage will be held.
In remarks to "Petra," PDTRA Chairman, Fares Breizat, these activities represent an "important" opportunity to showcase Petra's status on the global travel map and strengthen its presence as one of the world's key heritage sites, noting that media participation will help convey Petra's message worldwide.
