Bear Mauls Elderly To Death In North Kashmir's Sopore

Srinagar- An 85-year-old man was killed after being attacked by a wild bear in the Latishat Tujar area of Sopore in North Kashmir on Wednesday morning.
An official said that the victim, identified as Mohammad Rustum Lone, son of Abdul Khaliq Lone, was in his orchard around 8 to 9 am when the incident occurred.
The sudden attack left the elderly man critically injured, and he later succumbed to his injuries, reported news agency JKNS.
The incident has caused panic in the area, while the wildlife team has been deputed to the area while the concerned police team has also reached the spot, official said.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation initiated.
