During a monologue on September 16, Kimmel said,“The MAGA gang is desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
Disney cited the timing of Kimmel's comments as a factor in its decision.“The decision to suspend production of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' was made following comments that were ill-timed and thus insensitive,” the network said in a statement.

On Friday the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this,” Kimmel said.
Jimmy Kimmel also showed a clip of Donald Trump on the White House lawn, fielding a question on Charlie Kirk but quickly shifting to construction topics.
